? Striker not even on bench for 2-2 draw with Switzerland
? 'I would never give up playing for my country. It's an honour'
Peter Crouch has stated his desire to continue playing for England despite being omitted from the match-day squad that faced Switzerland on Saturday.
The striker was reportedly ready to turn his back on international football after not even making the bench for the Euro2012 qualifier at Wembley, which England drew 2-2 having been 2-0 down, feeling that he deserved to be involved having scored 22 goals in 42 games for the national side.
But speaking at an event on Tuesday to publicise the FA Mars Just Play initiative in south-east London, Crouch insisted he will join up with England should he be called up by Fabio Capello.
"Do I want to carry on playing for England? Yeah, of course," said the Tottenham striker, who has been linked with a move to Sunderland. "I would never give up playing for my country at any stage. It's an honour."
